The implication of not airing IP (internet protocol) TV has been obeyed by the ISP operator following the order given by Bangladesh Telecommuni-cation Regulatory earlier.
MA Hakim, president of Internet Service Providers Association of Bangladesh, told the The Independent that they had stopped all the IPTV channels after receiving orders from BTRC. Though, the letter did not give any particular time frame on the matter.
A senior official of BTRC told The Independent that they have taken the steps to bar this IPTV channels because there was no particular guideline to the whole thing, making monitoring on all the channels really cumbersome. Thus on fusing all the matter BTRC has decided to stop airing IPTV channels. He also added that after making a proper guideline BTRC and information ministry would lift the ban airing IPTV channels.
