Two people were killed and 20 others injured in a clash between two groups over a land dispute at Purba Barati village in Sadar upazila yesterday, UNB from Kishoreganj. The deceased were identified as Abdul Ali, 50, and Abu Siddique, 45, of the village. Officer-in-charge of Kishoreganj Model Police Station Mosharaf Hossain said there had been a longstanding dispute between former union parishad member Robi Miah and Malek Bepari over the ownership of a piece of land. The clash ensued following an altercation between the supporters of both the groups in the village around 5:30pm. At one stage, both the groups, equipped with home made arms, attacked one another, leaving Ali and Siddique, followers of Malek group, dead on the spot and 20 others injured of the two groups. Of the injured, 15 people were taken to Sadar Hospital. On information, police recovered the bodies and sent those to hospital morgue, the OC added.
