32,000 illegal gas lines disconnected

A mobile court of Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company Ltd disconnected 32,000 illegal gas connections to households in 18 villages in Narsingdi Sadar upazila and Narayanganj’s Araihazar upazila on Tuesday and Sunday.

Executive Magistrate Kabirul Islam Khan disconnected lines at Madhabdi, Algi, Mollarchar, Gopaldi and Shekherchar under Narsingdi Sadar upazila.
Tauhidul Islam, manager of Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company Ltd, Narsingdi, said no illegal lines would be spared during the drive. Illegal distribution lines, installed to supply gas, have also been removed during the drive.
