Bangladesh will have to beat Bhutan to stay in Asia Cup

Sports Reporter

“It is do or die match for us, because it’s the last option to qualify in the Asia Cup, we have to win this match,” Tom Saintfiet, the head coach of the Bangladesh national football team said yesterday.

Saintfiet, the Belgian coach, ahead of the Asian Cup playoff match in Bhutan stated in a press conference that Bhutan will play at home ground and it would be not easy task for Bangladesh to win but he believes that it would be possible for the squad he formed for the Bhutan mission.
Meanwhile, Shawkat Ali Khan Jahangir, the team leader also concerning the importance of the match said, “The match turned into very important for us in Bhutan after the home match and it is reality.”
However, coach Saintfiet, when explained about his squad of including some new players and not to consider others, who were in the last match against Bhutan said, “The last few weeks we analysed the 0-0 result, what was good what was bad. We saw some league matches. It is not an easy task to select final 23.”
“I followed three criteria to select players – number one, performance on club level – I have watched 36 league matches which are quite a lot, two, performance in national team level and training sessions and three, tactical choice of our game, climate, altitude and everything.”
“It is a must win game. If we draw 1-1 we will be satisfied. But we must qualify, it is do or die match.”
