Promising batsman Sabbir Rahman hints that they are favouite more than the visiting England side in the upcoming series to be held at their home den from Friday.
“Everybody is Tigers at home yard. We will play at home condition but they have come here to play at our place. It is not mattered much for us to think whatever they have done. We are thinking ourselves how we can do well in our batting, bowling and fielding,” said Sabbir Rahman, who recently made his one day debut against Afghanistan.
“For the reason that we will play at home and certainly there will be an advantage for us,” Rahman Sabbir told media during the gap of their practice session at Mirpur Indoor Stadium yesterday.
Bangladesh beat England at different condition during the World Cup Down Under the victory which will certainly inspire them to do well against the same side at home turf, the right-handed batsman thinks.
“We had beat them in World Cup. We have that confidence inside us. But the first match of the series is important for us. If we could play our good cricket we could then be won the series,” the confident Sabbir said.
“If they could score 300-350 more runs at this wicket then we have the ability to chase it down as we will play our own condition and the wicket will be known to us,” he also said.
“We are not thinking a bit what we did against Afghanistan in the concluded series. We are just focusing on the series against England,” Sabbir, whose nickname Rumman, said.
Rumman said that he is ready to play at any position in the need of the team though he made his habituation to batting at No.3.
“I’ve been playing at number three position last some few days. Even I played in Premier League at No. 3. I’m quite accustomed to playing in this position. For this the coach sent me to bat here,” the 24-year-old batsman, who justified his selection at No.3 in where team management could not set any batsman permanently, said.
