Sheikh Hasina

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina yesterday directed the authorities concerned, including ministries, to work with efficiency and appropriate strategies and action plans so that the country can survive in this highly competitive world, UNB reports.
"The present world is the most competitive one and her government wants to build the country with all possible capacities to survive competing in the international arena," she said.
The Prime Minister made call while presiding over the 4th meeting of the National Skill Development Council (NSDC) held at the Prime Minister's Office.
She said every ministry and organisations concerned will have to work keeping in mind how the desired development goals set by the government could be achieved.
Referring to her government's successes in implementing MDGs, the Prime Minister said Bangladesh has highly been acclaimed by the international community for its tremendous achievements.
Sheikh Hasina said it is very important for Bangladesh to take various development programmes to ensure sustainable development of the country and thereby implement the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
She also underscored the need for gaining more efficiency in implementing various projects and said her government has taken steps to establish 100 economic zones in the country where not only foreign investors but also local ones will be able to invest and thus expedite industrialisation.
The Prime Minister directed the officials concerned of different ministries to work with dedication and responsibility to resolve problems in their respective organisations to achieve the target.
Terming her government as people-friendly, she said, “The motto of my government is how it could ensure development of the country and change fate of people.” She urged all concerned to work for the people of the country first and said, “Officials must consider how better services could be rendered to people and how much have been done for brightening the country’s image.”
