500 illegal gas lines disconnected
4 house owners fined Tk 70,000 in Gazipur

The Titas Gas authority in separate drives disconnected 500 illegal gas lines in different areas of Gazipur city today. At the same time, a mobile court fined four clients Tk 70,000 for using gas illegally at their houses and hotel.
General Manager of Gazipur Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company limited SM Abdul Wadud said, as the part of illegal gas lines disconnection drives, a team of Titas Gas authority conducted a raid in Lakhsmipura residential area and Joydebpur Chowrasta area of the city on Wednesday. The team disconnected more than 500 illegal gas lines from different houses of Lakshmipura area and seized gas riser, a huge amount of pipes and gas stoves from the area. In the meantime they conducted a mobile court led by Executive Magistrate Mahmooda Shahrin Madhobi. The court fined Lutfor Rahman, Deelip Kumar Datta and Dr Nitto Ranjan Shorma of the area at Tk 10000 to each for using illegal gas lines in their residential houses and collected money from them instantly.
On the other hand, the same team conducted another drives to Shalbon Food and Restaurant in Joydebpur Chowrasta area of the city. They disconnected the illegal gas line in the hotel and fined its manager Mohammed Akram Tk 40,000 after conducted a mobile court.
General Manager of Gazipur Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company Limited SM Abdul Wadud, Manager Engineer Sabber Ahmed, Deputy Manager Engineer Khorshed Alam, Assistant Engineer Mirza Mamunur Rashid and Ayub Ali were present during the operation.
