UNB

Sherpur: A wild elephant was found dead at Panbar village in Kangsha union of Jhinaigati upazila on Saturday night, reports UNB. Local people said a herd of 30-35 elephants came down from their nearby hill and started damaging crops at the village around 9.30am. The elephants also damaged the houses of two farmers. Later, the corpse of one of the elephants was found at the village.  “The elephant might have been killed by villagers,” said Zahurul Haque, chairman of the union.
