International Arbitration Centre (BIAC) and Malaysian Arbitral Tribunal Establish-ment (MATE) signed a collaboration agreement with a view to explore areas for co-operation in respect of the use of facilities and services of both the centres on alternative dispute resolution (ADR).
Muhammad A Rumee Ali, chief executive officer of BIAC, and Prof Dato’ Seri Dr (Munsyi) Muslim Bin Yacob, president of Malaysian Arbitral Tribunal Establish-ment (MATE), recently signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations, said a press released yesterday.
Three prominent business chambers of Bangladesh, namely, International Chamber of Commerce-Bangladesh (ICC-B), Dhaka Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DCCI) and Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce & Industry (MCCI), Dhaka are sponsors of BIAC.
The main objective of MATE is to provide alternative dispute resolution services to individuals and business and to administer arbitration, mediation, and an adjudication schemes behalf of trade associations, professional bodies and individual companies.
