Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced their squad for the first two one day matches of ROCKET Bangladesh vs England ODI Series 2016 yesterday.
Fast-bowler Al Amin Hossain, who was not considered for the just concluded bilateral home series against Afghanistan, has been named for the first two matches against the three Lions.
But pacer Rubel Hossain did not get his place in the 14-member squad. Rubel had been included in the first two matches against Afghanistan. But his performance was lackluster after returning to cricket following a long injury layoff.
Besides three openers, four fast bowlers along with two specialist spinners have been kept in the squad against the visiting side.
Spin all-rounder Mosaddek Hossain Saikat, who made his debut on one day against Afghanistan, also remained on the squad against the touring English side. On his debut match, Saikat showcased a stellar performance with bat and ball, which inspired the selection panel to keep him for the England series.
Another spin all-rounder Mosharraf Hossain Rubel, who played in the third ODI against Afghanistan after a eight-year-hiatus, has also been included in this back-to-back home series. Rubel grabbed three wickets of Afghanistan with his spin magic.
Bangladesh will start their campaign with the one dayer, which will be commenced from Dhaka. The Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium will host the first two matches to be held on October 7 and 9 respectively.
Bangladesh squad:
Mashrafe Bin Mortaza (Captain), Shakib Al Hasan (Vice Captain), Tamim Iqbal, Soumya Sarker, Imrul Kayes, Mosaddek Hossain Saikat, Mahmudullah Riyad, Nasir Hossain, Mushfiqur Rahim, Shabbir Rahaman, Shafiul Islam, Mosarraf Hossain Rubel, Al Amin Hossain, Taskin Ahmed
