CEC hands over smart NID card to President

Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Rakibuddin Ahmed yesterday handed over the smart NID card of President Abdul Hamid to him at Bangabhaban, reports UNB.
The CEC handed over the NID card to the President when he paid a courtesy call on him. 
During the meeting, Kazi Rakibuddin Ahmed apprised the president of various information regarding the distribution of smart NID card and said all voters will be given the card by December, 2017.
Highlighting various advantages of smart NID card the CEC said through the card it will be possible to ensure transparency in various government services. President’s press secretary Joynal Abedin briefed reporters after the meeting.
