Bijori interested in film if expectation meets reality

Even though popular actress-model-dance-artiste Bijori Barkatullah has not been seen in any films, it is not because she has not gotten any offers. On the contrary, the offers kept pouring in. She herself chose not to. However, in recently released film ‘Aynabaji, directed by Amitabh Reza, Bijori could be seen appearing in two scenes. She commented about the scenes, “It can be said that Amitabh Reza is a family friend. I have worked under his direction before. I knew the story of ‘Aynabaji’ from before. Because he is a close family friend of ours, we made ourselves available for the scenes. The two scenes in which I appeared in are not vital to the film but as Amitabh Reza wanted his close people to be associated with the film, I was in it. I saw the film in the first show in the morning. To be honest, ‘Aynabaji’ is actually a cinema which is for the Bangladeshi people, its roots and its soil. It is a film of the people.”
Regarding acting in films, she said, “I have gotten numerous offers to work in films, but did not do so. It is not the case that I have to  be in everything. But yes, if the opportunity presents itself where the script, character is Bangladesh-based and if the working environment is familiar, comfortable and satisfactory, then I will be very keen on working in the film. I want to work in a Bangladeshi film where everything is all about Bangladesh.”
Last Eid, Bijori appeared in tele-dramas by Tauquir Ahmed, Tuhin Hasan among others. After Eid, she acted in two drama serials both of which have been directed by Sokal Ahmed. They are ‘Babui Pakhir Basa’, which is ongoing on ATN Bangla and the other is ‘Ditio Kusum’, which is awaiting to be aired on TV. The drama serials have been written by Kazi Shahedul Islam and Shahi respectively. Also, prior to Eid-UL-Fitr, Bijori also modeled for a commercial directed Kaslu.
