Heads of nearly 1,400 schools, colleges and madrasas of Barisal division attended the meeting. Nahid also urged parents to increase watch movements and attitudes of offspring to avoid their involvement in destructive activities.
“Only enforcement of law cannot combat terrorism and militancy. Social movement is a must to eliminate terrorism and militancy,” he added. Nahid asked the authorities concerned including teachers to inquire into unauthorized absence of students for more than 10 days at a stretch.

According to the notice, educational institutions will identify the students who are found absent for more than 10 days without proper reason and school authorities must inform in writing to Upazila Education Officer of suspicious absence of students.
