Although the England cricket team arrived here on Friday, just six days before the Bangladesh series, they passed the day without any training yesterday.
But it is learnt from the close source of the BCB that some of the players went to play golf at Kurmitola Golf Club. The security team led by Reginald Clyde Dickason appeared in Mirpur to look after the security arrangement for the third ODI between Bangladesh and Afghanistan match.
For this, the security around the stadium and its adjacent areas has been beefed up.
The visiting side will hold their first practice session at the Sher-e-Bangla National Crciket Stadium (SBNCS) and National Cricket Academy at evening session today without their head coach Trevor Bayliss, who didn’t come with the team due to visa hitch in Australia.
The coach is expected to join the team on Tuesday during the team’s practice match to be held at the Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah.
The visitors will get down playing the one day practice match against the BCB XI with the light practice before going into the three-match ODI series.
England will play the bilateral series against Bangladesh after a long hiatus. Last time, they played against Bangladesh in 2010.
The visiting side led by acting ODI captain Jos Buttler will start their campaign with the one day international, which will be commenced from Dhaka.
The regular ODI captain Eoin Morgan coupled with opener Alex Hales did not travel to Bangladesh on the security grounds.
The Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium will host the first two matches to be held on October 7 and 9 respectively.
But they will play a warm-up one day practice match against the BCB XI before going into the main three-match ODI series.
The third and last match of the ODI series will be held on October 12 at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong, which will also be hosted the first Test match to be kick-started in between October 20-24.
But the tourists will also play a two-dayer practice match against the BCB XI at the MA Aziz Stadium on October 14-15 before moving into the two-match Test series.
The English team will end their Bangladesh tour with the Test match. They will play their second and last Test match at the Sher-e-Bnagla National Cricket Stadium to be held in between on October 28 to November 1.
