8.8 lakh families get rice at Tk 10kg in Rangpur

RANGPUR: Over 8.82 lakh families have been getting rice at Taka 10 per kilogram in Rangpur division under the epoch-making poor-friendly food-aid programme to make rice available for the ultra poor at a very low price, reports BSS.
According to official, every card holder beneficiary family would get 30-kg rice monthly at Taka 10 per kilogram for five months during the lean seasons annually under the “Sheikh Hasinar Bangladesh, Khudha Hobe Niruddesh” programme. 
“The beneficiary families have been getting rice at Taka 10 per kilogram for September, October and November now and they will get the same for March and April next year,” Rangpur Regional Controller of Food Abdullah Al Mamun told BSS yesterday.
