A newlywed woman was found dead at Purbodashara in Sadar upazila early yesterday.
The deceased was identified as Supriya Saha alias Priya, 22, a second year honours student of Bangla department at Manikganj Mahila College and wife of Dipankar Sarkar, a resident of the area.
Officer-in-Charge of Sadar Police Station Aminur Rahman said Dilip Sarkar, father-in-law of the deceased, spotted Priya’s body with the throat slashed lying in a room of their house early in the morning and informed police.
“The body was also bore several injury marks,” the OC said. Police recovered the body yesterday morning.
Police arrested Supriya’s husband and in-laws in this connection. Priya’s father Sukumar Saha claimed that his daughter had been killed in a pre-planned way by her husband’s family members.
After visiting the spot, Assistant Police Superin-tendent of Sadar Circle Samsuddin Ahmed said “We are investigating the matter.”Victim’s father filed a murder case accusing 13 people including Supriya’s husband
