Awami League joint general secretary Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif yesterday called upon the guardians to play prominent role in refraining their children from derailment, BSS reports.
"Families should come forward to grow their children as real human-beings. Children would not be grown as human-beings if they lack proper teachings at home," he said.
Hanif said this while speaking at a report release and certificate distribution ceremony at the 3-D Seminar Hall of Krishibid Institution at Farm Gate in the city. Motivate and Organise Voluntary Engagement (MOVE) Foundation, an organisation of youths, held a workshop on "tolerance, sense of respect and peace". A report was released and certificates were distributed among the participants at the concluding session of the workshop.
Ambassador of Germany in Bangladesh Dr Thomas Prinz, secretary general of Islami Oikya Jote Mufti Mohammad Faezullah and honourary president of MOVE Foundation ABM Rashidul Hasan were the discussants, among others.
Calling upon all to work together in resisting militancy in the country, Hanif said, "We are busy in our mechanical and highly ambitious working life. That's why we can't give time to our children. Time has now come for the guardians to give a keen look to their children."
