Faridpur baby girl buried

FARIDPUR: The much talked about Faridpur baby girl, who was flown to Dhaka on Saturday afternoon for better treatment, died on Sunday night at capital’s Square Hospital, reports BSS.Galiba Hayat, as she was named by her grandfather Abul Kalam, was buried at Alipur graveyard after Asr prayer yesterday after a Namaj-e-janaja held at local Eidgah in Kamalapur area.The baby was born to Naznin Akhtar on the night of Sept 22 at local hospital in Faridpur. The new-born was only 23 weeks old while according to doctors below 28 weeks of age a baby cannot survive.She was declared dead by a doctor in a Faridpur hospital moments after she was born.
But the baby girl cried out when family members were about to bury her. She was then flown to Dhaka for treatment at Square Hospitals, where she died around 11:45pm on Sunday.
