Defending champions Khulna Division have a deficit of just 40 runs on the close of the rain-soaked second day of the Tier-1 match against Barisal in the Walton National Cricket League (NCL) at the Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium in Khulna yesterday.
At Sylhet International Stadium, Rangpur Division put on 185-5 in their first innings against Chittagong Division in Tier-2.
The match between Dhaka Metro and Dhaka Division at the Shaheed Chandu Stadium, whilst Rajshahi Division and Sylhet Division at the Shaheed Kamruzzaman Stadium in Rajshahi ended without a ball being bowled.
Khulna Division lost Anamul Haque and Nahidul Islam cheaply to start their first inning reply. Later Mahedi Hasan hit 124-run with Tushar Imran for the third wicket stand. Mahedi fell 15 runs short of his century. Before being caught, Mahedi clubbed 123-85, clobbering 11 fours and one six in his 170-minute stay.
Together with Mohammad Mithun, Tushar Imran therefore hit 59 for the fourth wicket. Like Mahedi, Tushar also missed his century just for nine runs. His 91 off 121-ball knock that studded with full dozen boundaries.
Mithun remained unbeaten on 28, while Nurul Hasan was on just nine not out. Golam Kibria claimed three wickets for Barisal.
