RAJSHAHI: Speakers in a discussion here observed that the digitisation of both public and private services is leading the country to achieve double digit growth in the next few years, reports BSS.
The ongoing digitisation process has created scope of employment and income generation in various ways including outsourcing, selling products through e-shop and offering different services in various service centres including the Union Digital Centres.
They viewed that Bangladesh is achieving technological advancement day by day and young generation can make it more rapid.
The observations came in a review meeting on Civic Services Innovation held in the conference hall of Deputy Commissioner on Saturday. Deputy Commissioner Office organised the meeting in association with Access to Information (A2I) Programme of Prime Minister’s Office. Deputy Commissioner Kazi Ashraf Uddin addressed the meeting as chief guest with Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education and ICT) Parvez Raihan in the chair. Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Ataul Gani, Assistant Commissioner (ICT) Sadia Zerin, District Education Officer Rafiqul Islam and Assistant Director of Divisional Passport and Visa Office Ratika Sarker also spoke. The discussants opined that peoples-friendly public service is very important for full-length reflection of the hopes and aspirations of the people.
They stressed that field level public services should be free from corruptions and anomalies for the sake of establishing people’s confidence on the civil services. Kazi Ashraf Uddin termed the government officials as the public servants and said they should be committed towards the people’s welfare. He emphasized the need for building a transparent, accountable and pro-people public administration for the sake of ensuring good governance everywhere in the service delivery activities.
Public interests could be protected with making the service delivery activities accessible to the commoners. Success of any government is totally dependent on bringing competence and dynamism in every tier of the civil administration, he added.
