The World Bank (WB) and Asian Development Bank (ADB) will start extending financial assistance for the development of Bangladesh education sector under a new programme styled "Sector-wise Approach Programme (SWAP)" from January, 2018, reports BSS.
The two development partners are now providing financial assistance based on the projects. A delegation of the WB held a meeting with Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid at his ministry yesterday and discussed the manpower structure, work strategy and other related issues, said a media release.
During the meeting the education minister and visiting senior economist of the WB Dilip Parajuli exchanged opinion on different issues such as improving the quality of education, checking dropouts and modernisation of education system and management.
They expressed the hope that other development partners would join SWAP.
