The foreign trio steered holders Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club to keep their winning streak in the JB Bangladesh Premier League football when they defeated Brothers Union by 5-4 at the Sylhet Stadium yesterday.
After the win Jamal went on top of the point table with 18 points from eight matches and remained unbeaten while Brothers despite playing very attacking game suffered their third defeat.
In the nine goals thriller, Wedson Anselme struck twice, Emeka Darlington, Landing Darboe and Sarwar Jahan Nipu added one each for Jamal while Mannaf Rabbi, Augustin Walson, Kingsley Chogozi and Nkowcha Kingsley reduced a piece for Brothers.
Jamal, who had snatched the control of tie match from the beginning, went ahead with captain Wedson opening the net with a good finish of Landing left side cross on 28th minute (1-0).
Landing scored the second just two minutes later and this time it was a gifted chance when Brothers stopper Krishna Pada trying make a through pass for his forward give out the ball straight to Wedson who just released it for onrushing forward (2-0).
Brothers bounce back to fight evenly and reduced first one through Mannaf Rabbi scored a spectacular goal when the young forward dodged a marker and kept his cool to send the ball into near post on 33rd minute.
Emeka Darlington gave Jamal further lead on 42nd minute (3-1) but Brother reduced another one with Augustin Walson converted a penalty in the added time of the first half (2-3) and equalised the margin on 62nd minute through Kingsley Chigozi (3-3).
Jamal regained the lead with substitute Sarwar Jahan Nipu scoring the goal on 71st minute (4-3) and Wedson scored his seventh goal in the league and the second in the match to enlarge the margin on 73rd minute (5-3).
Nkowcha Kingsley reduce the gap again when he converted the second penalty for Brothers to make the tally 5-4 while this time Yasin tackled Augustin from behind.
Brother was more than unfortunate when Augustin Walson failed to convert another penalty awarded by referee in the injury time and this time also Yasin handled a ball inside the area but Jamal custodian Maksud denied the weak effort with right hand dive.
