Cox’s Bazar: Members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) in a drive arrested an alleged arms trader along with five firearms from Dhaniakata area in Pekua upazila on Friday night, reports UNB.
The arrestee was identified as Nurul Shafi,35, a resident of the upazila.
Chittagong senior assistant superintendent of police Sohel Mahmud said tipped off, a team of Rab-7 led by him conducted a drive in the area and arrested Shafi posing to make a deal of arms.
Later, the elite force recovered five firearms from his possession. A case was filed in this connection.
