A 3-day art exhibition and drawing competition titled ‘Tomar Chokhe Shilpi SM Sultan’ will begin today at the National Art Plaza Gallery of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) in the city. BSA and Charuputhi, a creative art school, have jointly arranged the event for the fourth time marking the 92nd birth anniversary of artist SM Sultan which was observed on August 10.
Presided over by Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy Director General Liaquat Ali Lucky, Inam Al Haque, the eminent ornithologist, locally known as a bird specialist of the country is expected to inaugurate the programme today at 5pm. Noted media personality M Hamid, sculptor Hamiduzzaman Khan and Kazi Food Industries Ltd CEO Tanvir Haider Chaudhury will also be present as special guests at the event.
The top ten constants from three sections will be awarded at the event. Supported by Bellissimo, a number of 200 selected artworks will be displayed at the exhibition.
The exhibition will remain open to all everyday from 3pm to 8pm, till September 24.
In addition, an animation cartoon workshop will be held on September 23.
