Four people were killed in separate road accidents in three districts yesterday. Our Manikganj correspondent says: Two motorcyclists were killed and another was injured on Dhaka-Aricha Highway at Juka in Ghior upazila yesterday afternoon.
One of the deceased was identified as Tojumuddin, 28, while identity of another could not be known immediately.
Nazmul Ahsan, officer-in-charge of Borangail highway police, said the accident took place at about 2.00 pm when a Dhaka bound speeding truck from Paturia hit a motorcycle carrying three people, leaving motorcycle rider dead on the spot and co-riders Tojumuddin and Aslam Hossain, 25, of Laxmipura village in Shibalaya upazila, injured.
Local people sent the injured to a local hospital where Tojumuddin succu-mbed to his injuries. In Brahmanbaria, a man was killed and six others were injured on Dhaka-Sylhet highway at Malihata in Sarail upazila.
In Meherpur, a farmer was killed and 15 others were injured at Akubpur on Meherpur-Kushtia highway in Gangni upazila yesterday morning, reports BSS.
