A mobile court led by Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) yesterday in a drive fined four diagnostic centres Tk 22 lakh for using expired chemical materials and other irregularities.
The fined centres are; Medinova Medical Services, Popular Diagnostic Centre, Modern Diagnostic Centre and Dhaka National Medical Institute Hospital in the capital.
A press release of the RAB said “Recently some dishonest persons with the desire to get more profit have been cheating the general people. They introduced or familiarised themselves as specialist physicians from different clinic/ pharmacy/ mental and drug addict rehabilitation/ diagnostic centres.” RAB-2 has formed a special team and continued their drive to stop these illegal activities.” Subsequently, yesterday a team of RAB-2 with the cooperation of health and medicine administration department conducted a drive led by the executive magistrate of the RAB headquarters Md Sarwar Alam. Deputy Director of RAB-2 Md Mahbub Alam; Assistant Director of Health Department Dr Md Shahjahan Khan and Drug Super of the Medicine Administration Department Md. Rajiur Rahman were also present during the drive. They fined Medinova Medical Services, English Road, Kotwali for using expired re-agent. Fake diagnosed report cards with blank sign and false seal from different renowned doctors were also found during the operation. They also arrested four persons in this connection.
