Bangladesh will play six home series in the coming two years apart from playing a good number of matches in away, a fact that proved that they have come of age as far as cricket diplomacy is concerned. While the board was criticised for not giving enough international exposure to the Bangladesh cricket

team following an outstanding performance in the past year, they have packed the coming two years with enormous cricket.
For most of the 2017, Bangladesh will spend their time in playing away series but still the BCB managed two home series in the country, much to the delight of the fans.
Apart from hosting Afghanistan and England this year, Bangladesh will host Pakistan in July 2017 for two Tests and three ODIs and one T20. At the same year, in August-September, they will host Australia for two Tests. In January 2018, Sri Lanka will be hosted by Bangladesh for two Tests, three ODIs and one T20. In February at the same year, a tri-nation series will be hosted by Bangladesh involving Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka. At least seven matches will be held in that tri-nation series.
In 2017, Bangladesh will play three away series in New Zealand, India, South Africa besides playing the ICC Champions Trophy in England.
However for six home series in the coming two years, DBBL will get the rights of being the title sponsor after they bought it from the Impress Matra Consortium which earlier purchased the title sponsor and In-Stadia sponsorship rights from Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB)
for the period of next two years, starting from (September 1) 2016 to (August 31) 2018.
The Bangladesh-Afghanistan series with which Bangladesh resume ODI cricket after 10 months, thereby, will be named as Rocket-Dutch Bangla Bank Bangladesh vs Afghanistan ODI Series 2016. Rocket is the mobile banking of DBBL. What is unique move in the series is that the Rocket name will be written in Bangladesh alongside English for the first time in any International series.
BCB director and its marketing committee chairman Kazi Enam Ahmed disclosed this at the press conference at the Media Block of the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium (SBNCS) yesterday.
K Shamshi Tabrez, managing director of Dutch Bangla Bank, said that they want to stay with the cricket, which is becoming the part and parcel of Bangladesh’s people’s life.
“We firmly believe that cricket will go further ahead with the support of the country’s people. It’s not the first time we associated with cricket. In fact we were the proud sponsor of Bangladesh’s inaugural Test against India in 2000. This time we have sponsored not only for the Afghanistan series but also for the next England series and all the series Bangladesh will host in the upcoming two years,” Tabrez said.
“It is great news that Dutch Bangla Bank will stay with cricket and sponsor for all the home series of the next two years,” the Managing director of the Dutch Bangla Bank told.
BCB director and its media committee chairman Jalal Younus and Matra Consortium managing director Faridur Reza Sagor amongst others also present.
Inam Ahmd refused to disclose the amount they got from the Impress-Matra Consortium but said that they have sold the rights 40 percent more than the past.
“A total of 15 companies showed their interest in our advertisement and all of them offered more than our base price. Henceforth, we took the top three bidders for the second round, from where the Matra Consortium grabbed the opportunity by calling the best price. They also purchased the rights during the 2014 World Cup,” said Kazi Inam.
The logo of the series was unveiled by the distinguished guests at the last phase of the programme following the question-answer session.
