Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader yesterday stressed the need for digitising the services of Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) aiming to assuage the sufferings of passengers, reports UNB.
“Now, the BRTA is providing some services online, but it should expand its online services,” he said during his surprise visit to BRTA’s Keraniganj office.
The Road Transport Minister said bringing discipline in transport sector is now the top priority of his ministry. So, the BRTA should be more professional and sincere in transport management, he added.
The minister warned the BRTA officials that no negligence in their duties will be tolerated. Calling upon the officials to work sincerely to reduce public sufferings, Quader said although the BRTA has been able to improve the quality of its services a little bit, the capacity of its officials must be increased.
