DU ‘Kha’ unit admission test Sep 23
The admission tests for the first year honous courses of Dhaka University for the 2016-17 academic year will begin from Friday, September 23 with the ‘Kha’ unit tests, a university press release said.
The one-hour test will be held from 10am to 11am in 73 centers on university campus and outside the campus.
A total of 34,606 admission seekers have already applied against 2,241 seats under the Kha-unit of the University, it added. The release also said, however, the admission test (General Knowledge) of Cha-unit under fine-arts faculty of the university will be held on September 24 (Saturday) from 10am to 11 am at 123 centers on the campus.
A total of 10,243 admission seekers have applied against 135 seats under the fine-arts faculty.  The applicants are prohibited to carry any kind of elecrotonic device including mobile phone and communicable device during the admission test, the release added. The seat-plan of the admission test will be available in the university website admission.eis.du.ac.bd.

30 NSU students get scholarships
A total of 30 students from Confucius Institute (CI) at North South University (NSU) secured full scholarships this year to obtain higher education in China, says a press release.
 In 2015, 14 NSU students went to study in China with full scholarship. Among them, four students received Chinese Government Scholarship, eighteen received South Asian Scholarship and twelve of them received Confucius Institute Scholarship. 
The students from CI at NSU became Champion and Silver Medal winner in the Chinese Proficiency Competition that was organised by Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the People’s Republic of Bangladesh.

Emergency Medical Assistance Fund launched at JU
SAVAR: A medical fund titled ‘Vice-Chancellor (VC) Emergency Medical Assistance Fund was launched at Jahangirnagar University (JU) aiming at providing financial assistance to the university community for ensuring better health care.
JU VC Professor Dr Farzana Islam inaugurated the fund from former two JU students at a function on the campus here on Monday, a press release said yesterday.
The students, teachers, officers and staffs of the university will get financial assistance from the fund for getting better treatment.
The account no. of the fund is 0200008947626 at Agrani Bank, JU branch. Any Bank, Insurance, financial institution and trust would be allowed to donate money in the fund, the release added.

Workshop on education and management held
National University organised a workshop on ‘Education and management’ at senate hall in Gazipur yesterday, says a press release. A Total of 2200 college principlas will attend the 22 workshop. 
NU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Harun-or-Rashid has given a speech on this opening ceremony. He said, “Development of college education is more important now. College principals should play a vital role on this field. File signature and routine work are not their only job. 
They should be an academic leader of their own field. The leadership of principals will help the development of education.”
Pro-Vice Chancellor Md Aslam Bhuiyan, Prof Hafiz Md Babu, Treasurer Md Noman Ur Rashid, deans, registrar, departmental heads and teachers-employee were present the ceremony.
