Satkhira: Officer-in-charge of Shyamnagar Police Station Enamul Haque was closed to district Police Lines on Sunday night following an order from the Home Ministry, reports UNB.
Mirza Salahuddin, assistant superintendent of police of Kaliganj Circle, confirmed this.
Earlier on September 11, the former OC detained Shyamnagar Upazila Health Complex doctors Shampa Rani Mandal and Ariful Islam, and allegedly took photos of the duo, forcing them to make intimate posture.
As the news spread around, medical practitioners under the banner of Bangladesh Medical Association (BMA) staged demonstration across the country protesting the incident.
After the protest, the Home Ministry took prompt action and withdrew the alleged OC.
Mohsin Ali, inspector (Investigation) of the police station was appointed as the acting OC.
