An agreement between Dhaka University and Gifu University, Japan was signed recently at the Dhaka University VC’s residential office to expand the ongoing collaborative programme being conducted by the two universities, according to a press release.
Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. AAMS Arefin Siddique and Gifu University President Dr. Hisataka Moriwaki signed this agreement on behalf of their respective institution. Dhaka University Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) Professor Dr. Shahid Akhtar Hossain and members of the Japanese delegation were present on this occasion.
According to the agreement, Dhaka University and Gifu University will open collaborative office at each university. These offices will support the Dual Ph.D. Degree Program (DPDP) at Dhaka University and Gifu University. It will also act to promote collaboration and supply information for smooth cooperation between the two institutions. It may be mentioned that earlier, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Dhaka University and Gifu University was signed on 29 June, 2014 to promote education and research at these two universities.
