Bangladesh finish 76th in Open section

Bangladesh chess team clinched 76th position out of 180 teams in open section of the 42nd World Chess Olympiad which concluded on Tuesday in Baku, Azerbaijan.
On the other hand Bangladesh women team became 77th out of 142 teams in women section.
Bangladesh team earned 11 match points and 26.5 games points in open section and women team earned 10 match points and 22.5 game points after 11th round games.
Bangladesh lost to Qatar by 1.5-2.5 points and women team lost to Kyrgyzstan by 1.5-2.5 points.
In open section IM Mohammad Minhaz Uddin (Rating-2413) beat Ghanem Al Samari (Rating-1574) of Qatar and GM Mollah Abdullah Al Rakib drew with GM Al Sayed Mohammed (Rating-2521). GM Enamul Hossain Razib (Rating-2413) lost to GM Al-Modiahki Mohamad (Rating-2550) and GM Ziaur Rahman (Rating-2512) lost to IM Nezad Husein Aziz (Rating-2417). Razib unfortunately lost the match from a winning position. WFM Sharmin Sultana Shirin (Rating-2002) beat Omurbekova Diana (Rating-1868) and WIM Rani Hamid (Rating-1993) drew with Zairbek Kyzy Begimay (Rating-1836). WIM Shamima Akter Liza (Rating-2129) lost to Samaganova Alexandra (Rating-2048) and WFM Nazrana Khan Eva (Rating-1965) lost to Alymbay Kyzy Aizhan (Rating-1913).
Bangladesh team was in 56th position after 10th round in open section but unfortunately 58 seeded Bangladesh team lost to 55 Seeded team Qatar in 11th or last round. In open section GM Razib earned 5.5 points out of 10 games in 1st board, GM Rakib earned 5 points out of 9 games in 2nd board, GM Ziaur Rahman earned 5.5 points out of 10 games in 3rd board, IM Minhaz earned 5 points out of 7 games in 4th board and GM Niaz earned 5.5 points out of 8 games in 5th board.
In women section WIM Liza earned 4 points out of 10 games, Shirin earned 6 points out of 10 games in 2nd board, WFM Eva earned 4 points out of 9 games in 3rd board, WIM Rani Hamid earned 4.5 points out of 9 games in 4th board.
