The Mid-Autumn Day is a traditional festival observed by Chinese people on the 15th day of the eighth month of the Chinese callendar. It is an important occassion for family reunions. Mooncakes, which are round and look like the moon, symbolize family reunion and are must-eat food during the festival. This year the Mid-Autumn Day falls on September 15 (Thursday).
