Six arrested over killing, mugging

Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) on Tuesday arrested six people for their alleged involvement in snatching Tk 33 lakh from Moghbazar area of the capital on May 24.
The arrestees were identified as Pabittro Samaddar, Rifat, Zakir, Alamin and Jahirul, While addressing a press briefing at DMP Media Centre yesterday, DB Joint Commissioner Monirul Islam said getting secret information, a team of DB arrested six people from Badda area of the capital around 5pm on Tuesday.
The law enforcers came to know that the arrested persons were involved in snatching Tk 33 lakh after shooting a private firm official in Moghbazar area on May 24, he said.
The arrestees also admitted that they killed a garment worker named Rubel alias Mintu, 18, in city’s Rampura area recently, said DB joint commissioner.
