14 shops fined for selling adulterated food items

A total of 14 commercial establishments were fined Tk 91,000 for selling adulterated food at Madhabpur Bazar in Madhabpur upazila of Habiganj on Tuesday.
A mobile court led by executive magistrate Md Rashedul Islam with a team of RAB-9 headed by Assistant Director of Srimangal Camp CPC-2 Md Azizul Haque Sarkar raided Mashabpur Bazar at 12:30 pm and conducted search for 3 hours where owners of 14 shops were fined under Safe Food Act, Consumer Rights Protection Act 2009 and penal code 1860. The shops that were fined were selling adulterated food made in unhygienic environment and weight of food they were selling was also not accurate.
