GAIBANDHA: Speakers at a function yesterday urged the officials and staff of Disabled Services and Help Centre (DSHC) to provide services cordially to the autistic children and the persons with disabilities.
“The persons with disabilities are a part of the society, not burden.
They could make a huge contribution to the society by flourishing their latent talent if they are given special care”, they said. They made the comments while addressing a function of DSHC office shifting at Shukhnagar area, adjacent to LGED office of the town here, on Tuesday afternoon.
Additional deputy commissioner (General) Abu Bakar Siddique addressed the function as the chief guest while officer of the centre Mehedi Hasan presided over the ceremony. Mehedi Hasan in his welcome speeches said the office of DSHC was established at the Forest Department Road of the town on July 01, 2013.
Since then, the overall activities of the center equipped with modern instruments were being conducted under National Foundation for Development of the Disabled Persons of the Ministry of Social Welfare, he said.
