Militancy to be eliminated from the country soon: Tofail
BHOLA: Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed yesterday said militancy will soon be rooted out from the country and called upon the people to forge unity against militancy under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Militant attacks are being carried out to hamper the ongoing development and damage the image of the country.
These evil forces will soon be eliminated from the country, said the Awami League advisory council member while speaking at VGF rice distribution programme at Shibpur union of Bhola Sadar upazila.
Tofail distributed rice among 1700 poor families on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha. Each family got 10 kilograms of rice.
The commerce minister said Awami league made a promise to give poor people rice at the rate of Tk 10 per kg and it had fulfilled its promise.
He said Bhola will be the countrys one of the best developed districts. When the Bhola-Barisal bridge will be constructed, the people of Bhola will be able to go to Dhaka by road easily. Mentioning the allocation of Tk 300 crore to check river erosion in Bhola, he said Bhola will be saved from river erosion when this project will be implemented.
Bhola district AL general secretary and district council administrator Abdul Momim Tulu, district freedom fighter commander Dost Mahmud, Sadar upazila parishad chairman Mosharef Hossain, among others, were present at the programme.
