Five people, including four of a family, were killed and 20 others injured in a collision between a bus and a truck on Dhaka- Bangabandhu Bridge highway in Kandila area of Sadar upazila yesterday afternoon. Three of the deceased were identified as Birbala, Anjana and Jagadish Pramanik, hailed from Bogra district. Assistant superintendent of police of Tangail Model Police Station Ashraful Islam said the cement-laden truck fell into a roadside ditch after its collision with the Dhaka-bound bus around 2pm, leaving five people, who were traveling on the truck, dead on the spot. On information, police and fire fighters rushed to the spot and recovered the bodies. The injured were admitted at Tangail Medical College Hospital.
