‘Motorcycle thief’ killed in Keraniganj

An unidentified motorcycle lifter, age about 30, was killed in mass assault at Sakta union under Keraniganj, the outskirt of the capital city on Friday night, reports BSS. Earlier, the motorcycle thief injured the rider of the two-wheeler, Nurul Amin, by knife.
Nurul Amin said he is working as a pharmacist at Keraniganj health complex and was returning home at about 10.00 pm by his motorcycle.
He said three persons attacked him and he tried to escape leaving his bike. Then another miscreant attacked him with knife. Hearing his cry local people came forward and detained one miscreant and assaulted him mercilessly. Following the mass assault motorcycle lifter died on the spot.
Officer- in- Charge (OC) of Keraniganj Thana Ferdous Hossain said being assaulted by mass the unknown motorcycle thieve died on the spot. His body was sent to Mitford Hospital for postmortem.
Two separate cases were filed with Keraniganj Thana in this connection.
