BNP chief performs umrah

Before starting hajj rituals, BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia along with her family members performed umrah in Makkah on Thursday night, reports UNB. They are scheduled to start performing the rituals of the hajj after Jum'a payers, Saudi BNP unit president Ahmed Ali Mukib told UNB. He said Khaleda together with her eldest son and BNP senior vice chairman Tarique Rahman, his wife Dr Zubaida Rahman, daughter Zaima Rahman, late Arafat Rahman Koko’s wife Sharmila Rahman and their  entourage performed umrah around 10pm.
After performing tawaf of Kaba Sharif, they offered prayers in Masjid al-Ḥarām, said Mukib. He said the BNP chief and her family members are scheduled to reach Mina on Friday evening (Local time) to start performing hajj rituals. On Wednesday, the BNP chief along with her entourage left Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport by a flight of Saudi Airlines while Tarique and his family members left London for Jeddah on the same day.
