KHULNA: Khulna Metropolitan Police (DMP) authorities have decided to set up 16 makeshift check posts at different strategic locations of the southwester industrial city to prevent smugglings of sacrificial cattle hides during the Eid-ul-Azha, reports BSS. “The check points will virtually seal off the city exit points against smuggling hides out of the city,” KMP Commissioner Nibash Chandra Majhi told BSS. He said police would also keep an intensified vigil against black marketing of hides as “unholy syndicates” appeared active during the Eid. The official said CCTV cameras, currency screening machines and others electronic devices were installed at cattle markets and shopping malls to check and track down frauds, extortionists and elements called “molom party or, agyan party”.
