The Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) has set 254 designated places for slaughtering animals during the Eid-ul-Azha and has advised the citizens to slaughter the animals there. Nizam-ul-Azim, Acting Mayor of RCC, informed the matter to the reporters on Thursday morning by a press conference at conference room of RCC and said the RCC has set those slaughtering spots under 30 wards of RCC for slaughtering animals.
At the press conference he further informed that RCC will also send letters to mosques to insist the people going to Jummah prayers to use the designated places.
The mayor said the spots set up by the RCC will have appointed Imams, butchers and cleaners. The RCC official also asked the citizens of the city to conduct the slaughtering by maintaining proper hygiene.
BSS adds: Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) is determined to safe removal of sacrificial animals waste within 24 hours in the city and it has adopted massive measures to this end.
"We have also fixed 254 places for slaughtering sacrificial animals in the forthcoming Eid-ul Azha in 30 Wards of the city," said Nizam-ul-Azim, Mayor-in-Charge of RCC, while addressing a pre-Eid press conference in the city Bhaban on Thursday.
Highlighting the aspects of safe and timely removal and disposal of animal waste he said adequate steps have been taken for motivating the city dwellers in this regard.
Panel Mayors Rashedul Hassan and Tahera Begum, Ward Councilor Mustaque Hossain and Chief Executive Officer Khandaker Mahbubur Rahman also spoke.
