A 25-member South Africa Twenty20 Cricket squad led by its skipper Faf du Plessis arrived in Dhaka to play a full-fledged series against the hosts Bangladesh yesterday afternoon.
The team was scheduled to reach in Dhaka by the EK 582 flight of Qatar Airways at 8:25am but they landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport by the EK 586 flight of Emirates Airways at 5:30pm after nine-hour delay in Dubai.
During the over month-long tour, the visiting side will play two-match Twenty20s, three ODIs and two Test against the home side.
The visitors will kickstart their campaign with two-match Twenty20 series to be held at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium (SBNCS) on July 5 and 7 respectively.
The rest of the players for the ODI and Test series will come at two different dates prior to the onset of the respective series.
Before the start of the main series, the tourists will play a one-off Twenty20 practice match against BCB XI to be held at Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah on July 3.
Thereafter, the Proteas will face-off the host team in the three-match ODI series, of which the first two one day matches will be staged at the SBNCS on July 10 and 12 correspondingly.
Before coming back to Dhaka for the last Test match, Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium will host the third and last one day on July 15.
The first Test of the two-match Test series will also take place in Chittagong, from July 21-25.
South Africa last played series in Bangladesh in 2008 while they played three one day and two Test matches.
