Ten women get Ananya awards

Bi-monthly periodical ‘Ananya’ yesterday awarded ten women for their successes in establishing human, social, political and cultural rights. Awami League joint secretary and former foreign affairs minister Dr Dipu Moni and women leaders Professor Mahfuza Khanam and Khushi Kabir handed over ‘Ananya Shirsha Dosh-2015’ awards at a ceremony at Khamarbari Krishibid Institution auditorium in the capital’s Farmgate area. The award recipients are-- Luva Nahid Chowdhury (organisational skill), Sonia Kabir Bashir (technical), Washfia Nazreen (climbing), Malia M Kadir (entrepreneur), Anima Mukti Gomes (music), Supriti Dhar (journalism), Mabia Akter and Mahfuza Khanam (sports), Aparna Gosh (film), visually impaired Umme Tanjila Chowdhury (education) and Sadia Akter Shorna (resisting early marriage and social-work).
