Mustafa Monwar’s 81st birth anniv celebrated

The 81st birth anniversary of noted painter, artist, puppeteer, television and radio programme director, producer and performer Mustafa Monwar was celebrated in a befitting manner. To celebrate the occasion, Director’s Guild, an organisation of television play directors in the country, organised an elaborated programme on Thursday evening at the National Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA). 

The programme began with a group dance performance with the song ‘Aloker-ei Jharna Dharay’, conducted by Shamim Ara Nipa and Shibli Mahmud.  In the event, members of Director’s Guild felicitated him with flowers. Besides, BSA, Group Theatre Federation, Pathanatok Parishad, Children Film Society, Bangladesh Theatre, Songlap Group Theatre, RTV and others also felicitated him. 
In the event, Mustafa Monwar was accompanied by his wife Meri Monwar, daughter Nandini Monwar, theatre personalities Mamunur Rashid, filmmaker Amzad Hossain, Ataur Rahman, SA Haque Alik, Gazi Rakayet, Chayanika Chowdhury, director Animesh Aich and others. That time they shared their memories and experience that they spent together with artist Mustafa Monwar. 
Ataur Rahman, who played lead role in Mustafa Monwar directed tele-drama ‘Rakta Karabi’ said, “I saw a man of extraordinary talent. He is a man who is enthusiastic and creative to his work. In my opinion, he is among the best tele-drama producers.”
National Film Award winning director Gazi Rakayet said, “Mustafa Monwar is spreading the light over the decade among the human by using the powerful medium of television drama.”
Saidul Anam Tutul said, “Mustafa Monwar, through  his works, could always beautifully portray the bitter truth that is always present.”
Theatre personality Mamunur Rashid said, “ I have known him for decades. There are countless memories and if I share all of them, the programme will not end. I have so many memories with him. During the Liberation War, he stayed up all night at Shaheed Minar and completed numerous artworks”. 
Laisa Ahmed Lisa rendered songs at the event.
