Abul Mansur Ahmads birth anniv today

The 118th birth anniversary of Abul Mansur Ahmad, a renowned litterateur, journalist and politician of the sub-continent, will be observed today, says a press release.
On the occasion, Abul Mansur Ahmad Sriti Parishad will organise a discussion titled Ideals and Aesthetics of Abul Mansur Ahmad on September 6 at the Abdul Karim Sahitya Bisharad Auditorium of Bangla Academy at 3pm. Professor Emeritus Anisuzzaman will chair the programme and Professor Emeritus Rafiqul Islam will be the chief guest.
Prof Mansur Musa, folklorist Shamsuzzaman Khan and novelist Selina Hossain will be present at the programme, among other. A book titled Jibon Shilpi Abul Mansur Ahmad, edited by Imran Mahfuz, will be published on the occasion. All are requested to join the programme.
Mansur was the provincial education minister in the United Front cabinet under Sher-e-Bangla AK Fazlul Huq in 1954 and central commerce and industries minister in the Awami League government of Hossain Shaheed Suhrawardy in 1957.
