State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak said the government is building capacity of the entrepreneurs of Union Digital Centers (UDCs) to develop them as info leaders who will provide information to empower the people, reports BSS.
"The 10,000 UDC entrepreneurs are being provided training on writing reports and features aimed at developing them as info leaders," he told a workshop jointly organized by Trinomuler Tathyajanala Programme of ICT Division and Tathyaseba Barta Sangstha (TSB) at the conference room of Deputy Commissioner of Patuakhali on Thursday, said a media release yesterday.
Palak said after building capacity in writing reports and features the info leaders will play role of changing the society through providing the rural people information about socioeconomic development and livelihood of rural areas.
"The dissemination of necessary information to the people will make them empower," he said, adding that the Trinomuler Tathyajanala Programme will also provide training to the UDC entrepreneurs about outsourcing and e-commerce to increase their earning.
As part of the 3-year-long Trinomuler Tathyajanala Programme, training programme will be organized in 64 districts of the country to develop 10,000 info leaders. Access to Information (A2I) Programme of Prime Minister's Office has been providing assistance to implement the programme while TSB is working as implementation associate of the programme.
