Dhaka urges Indian entrepreneurs

Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu urged the Indian entrepreneurs to invest in petroleum and petrochemical sectors in Bangladesh saying they would have good return from their investments, reports BSS.
"The demand for power in Bangladesh is increasing for sustainable industrilisation and socio-economic development," he said, while addressing a round-table marking the "9th India 2016 Global Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) Forum" at Mumbai in India, said a press release in Dhaka yesterday.
Chemical and Petroleum Division of Indian Chemical and Fertilizer Affairs Ministry and Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) jointly organised the 
round-table. Amu underscored the need for increasing the use of environment- friendly power for green industrialisation and said "Bangladesh has already increased the use of solar energy as an alternative power."
The minister said Bangladesh government has taken various initiatives including establishment of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) plant and coal based power plant to meet the growing demand for power.
Bangladesh has become an investment hub in the world for its strategic geographical location, he said adding that the government is providing same facilities to the local and foreign investors.
Among others, FICCI national chemical committee Chairman Deepak C Mehata, Indian Chemicals and Fertilizers Affairs Minister Ananth Kumar, State Minister for Indian Chemical, Fertilizer, Road Communication and Water Transport Mansukh L Mandaviya and high officials of government and private organisations were present at the discussion.
