Bangladesh Bank (BB) and the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) yesterda distributed 200 fake-note detection machines amongst the big shopping centres of the capital.
The machines were handed over to the representatives of the markets at a programme organised by the FBCCI at its office in Motijheel.
Speaking on the occasion, FBCCI president Abdul Matlub Ahmad said the government takes initiative to detect fake-notes every year but the groups that produce fake-notes are “very strong”, and so the government could not eliminate it completely.
Fake-note detection machines are handed over to the representatives of the markets so that they can detect fake-notes of their own, he added.
