IU admission process begins Sept 15
Kushita: The online admission process for the first year honours courses at Islamic University under the academic session 2016-17 will begin from September 15 and continue till October 20.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the university admission committee with IU Vice Chancellor Professor M Harun-Ur-Rashid Askar in the chair.
Among others, Pro-vice chancellor Prof M Shahinoor Rahman, Treasurer Prof Selim Toha, Proctor Prof M Mahbubar Rahman and deans of various faculties and departmental chairmen were present at the meeting. Details about the admission tests are available on the university website www.iu.ac.bd .
Orientation programmes held at EWU
The orientation programmes for the students of Fall Semester 2016 in different academic programmes of East West University (EWU) were held at the university campus at Aftabnagar in the capital yesterday, says a press release.
Each department arranged the individual programme for their newly admitted students. More than 750 students got admitted at the graduate and undergraduate programmes in 12 different departments in this semester. The objective of the orientation programme was to welcome the new students and orient them to the university facilities, faculty members and academic system. Department of Business Administration arranged the orientation programme at the Auditorium Lobby of EWU. Dr. Mohammed Farashuddin, Chairperson of Board of Trustees, and former Governor of Bangladesh Bank, was the chief guest while Prof MM Shahidul Hassan, vice-chancellor of EWU, was the special guest.
Workshop on self-assessment improvement plan
A workshop on ‘Post Self Assessment Improvement Plan’ was held at Dhaka International University (DIU) on Monday at the Dr MI Patwari auditorium of on its green road campus, says a press release.
Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of DIU organised the workshop for all the faculty members of departments of Law, English and Computer Science & Engineering (CSE). More than fifty faculty members from the said departments of the university attended the workshop.
Prof Mesbahuddin Ahmed, head, Quality Assurance Unity (QAU), University Grants Commission of Bangladesh (UGC), was the workshop as chief guest while Prof Moinul Islam, treasurer, DIU presided over the workshop.
